This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Perry, Union, Alexander, Scott, Cape Girardeau and Jackson Counties. .River levels are falling along the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau and are expected to fall below flood stage by Friday. For the Mississippi River...including Cape Girardeau, Thebes, Hickman, New Madrid...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau. * WHEN...Until late Friday evening. * IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, Minor flooding occurs. The Mississippi River backs into several creeks producing flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 33.4 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 AM CDT Monday was 33.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Friday afternoon and continue falling to 28.6 feet Thursday, May 16. - Flood stage is 32.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
