This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

Special Weather Statement issued May 6 at 10:01AM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD

At 1001 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Rockerville to 4 miles northwest of Red Shirt Table Overlook. Movement was north at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Rapid City, Hermosa, Hisega, Rockerville, Reptile Gardens, Bear Country, and Hart Ranch around 1005 AM MDT. Black Gap around 1015 AM MDT. Black Hawk around 1020 AM MDT. Rapid Valley around 1025 AM MDT. Thompson Butte and Rapid City Airport around 1030 AM MDT. This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 54 and 62.
