This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

Special Weather Statement issued March 28 at 1:30PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK

Two systems will bring snow and blowing snow to the area. The first round will take place Friday into Friday evening before a short break. The second round, and potentially more impactful one, will occur Saturday morning through Sunday morning. Late day saturday into the evening hours will be the window for heaviest snow, blowing snow, and reduced visibilities. Precipitation and winds will taper off through Sunday morning.
