This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which could reach critical levels. * WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest, west central, and western Maine, including the following areas, in Maine, Central Interior Cumberland. In south central Maine, Coastal Waldo, Interior Waldo, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Southern Somerset. In southwest Maine, Androscoggin and Coastal Cumberland. In west central Maine, Central Somerset. In western Maine, Interior Cumberland Highlands, Southern Franklin and Southern Oxford. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
