This is a simple retrieval tool that will query the REC database for alerts that have been received through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's IPAWS All Hazards feed. This will include alerts that are intended for the Emergency Alert System (EAS), Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) as well as severe weather related National Weather Service alerts which currently do not go over EAS through IPAWS/CAP. Non-severe weather information (except marine weather) is also available through the NWS feed..

* WHAT...High rip current risk in effect through this evening and potential for minor coastal flooding for the Saturday and Sunday morning high tide cycles. * WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, as well as low-lying locations on the western shores of Galveston Bay. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Dangerous rip currents at Gulf-facing beaches. Minor coastal flooding at times of high tide in areas such as Crystal Beach, Bolivar Peninsula, Lynchburg, Seabrook, and Surfside. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Particularly vulnerable locations include, but are not limited to: Crystal Beach, Galveston Beach, Highway 87 and 124 intersection on the Bolivar Peninsula, the north approach to Lynchburg Ferry, Toddville Rd in Seabrook, Beach Drive and Blue Water Highway near Surfside.
