On Monday, the FCC has dismissed 8 applications that were assisted by Hispanic Christian Community Network that is headed by Antonio Cesar Guel.  These dismissals include two dismissals in Minneapolis and one in Seattle.  The remaining dismissals were in Wisconsin and Texas. 

In these dismissals, the Commission sent a Letter of Inquiry to the tower owners to verify that either HCCN or the "applicant" received assurance (permission) to use that site for their tower.  In these cases, the tower owners make swom statements that they did not provide assurance to either HCCN or the "applicant". 

The Communications Law Blog is reporting that a rulemaking number has been assigned to SSR Communication's petition to add a new full power FM class C4. 

Class C4 will be available only in "Zone II" which is the areas of the United States that excludes the northeastern United States, California south of 40 degrees latitude, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.  In other words, anywhere where a Class C, C1, C2 or C3 station class is currently available.

On this day, 30 years ago, a phone line, 818-882-6328 was connected using a conventional telephone answering machine with a special 6 minute loop casette tape.  The phone line called California Comments was the latest addition to the flourishing Southern California telephone "commentline" scene at the time along with other lines like Observatory, Telephun, DBS, Feedback and The Movie Line.

The FCC has released the Public Notice for 248 mutually exclusive LPFM applications in 79 groups.   Applicants covered under this public notice were in the following states:

• Alaska
• Arizona
• California
• Colorado
• Hawaii
• Kansas 
• Missouri (Kansas City ONLY)
• Nebraska
• Nevada
• Oregon
• Utah
• Washington

During the first 30 days of the window, Petitions to Deny and Informal Objections may be filed against any other applicant.  

Last Friday, MX applicants received an e-mail from Nexus Broadcast that had suggested that they may be the "losing" application in their MX group.   This e-mail promoted engineering services through RECnexus, a joint marketing operation of REC Networks and Nexus Broadcast. 

The e-mail was intended to be directed to applicants who were not the highest scoring applicants within their MX groups such as a 4-point applicant in a MX group that had a mix of 4 and 5 point applicants. Instead, the e-mail went to all MX applicants.

If you have 5-points, you should have never received that e-mail.  Some 4, 3 and 2 point applicants in groups without 5-point applicants should have also never received that e-mail.
