New release of REC Broadcast Query

By admin | 9:41 PM EST, Thu January 01, 2015

REC is starting off the new year with an ehnanced version of the REC Broadcast Query tool.

http://recnet.net

More application details

The primary new feature in Broadcast Query is the Show More Application Details link.  This link will replace the map with information from various FCC CDBS data files regarding the application.  Much of the information are the application indicators that reflect information that was entered on the application.  This screen will also include main studio information (mainly for LPFM), the parties (board members) to the application and the signatories.

The information about informal objections and petitions to deny that was released a couple of weeks ago has been moved to this screen.

If you want to return to the contour map, click on the Return to contour map link.

Search by board member (positional interest)

A new option on the drop-down allows you to search by positional interest.  These would be the people mentioned in the part of the application where the board members or owners go.  You can enter a part of a name or enter just a last name only.  You can even search by address.  Just enter the name you want to check and select [Positional Interest/Board Members] on the drop down.  The system will display up to 500 hits.

Click on the application reference number to view the facility record.  If the application has an engineering record, that information will also be displayed.

In addition, the application that was selected will show in the Application History of the search with a highlighted background.  You can click on the application reference number to view the application at the FCC.

Slow map issue fixed

We have had a problem with slow maps on non current records.  This issue was related to the changes made by the FCC about a month ago to the HAAT web service.  This problem has been fixed and the maps are coming up a little faster than before.

Note from REC about the application indicators

REC does not analyze or validate the data that comes from the FCC in their application indicator records.  We are displaying the information as we get it using the descriptions that were provided by the FCC.  We can not change the data and keep in mind that the FCC may see things different than we do.  If the description of the indicator is not displaying correctly, that is something that REC can address.  If there's a problem with the actual data, that is an FCC issue.

If you have any questions or comments, please use the Contact REC link and let us know!

Happy New Year from REC.
