We have reached the end of the first MX settlement window but it is not over.  There are several MX groups that are still not resolved.  Some may take months or maybe years to settle.  Let's look region by region at how things went.

Alaska

RAGE INC.. has been granted their construction permit and the call sign KEGR-LP.  ALASKA REVIVAL RADIO moves to 96.9, accepted for filing and is still waiting their constuction permit.

In comments to the FCC on RM-11727, REC Networks has analyzed the proposal by SSR Communications to create a new Class C4 FM service in the Zone II areas (areas excluding the northeast, mid-west, mid-Atlantic, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and most of California).  The proposed Class C4 would permit Class A stations to double their power and operate at 12 kilowatts at 100 meters height above average terrain. 

    AMES, IA  (August 14, 2014) - - - REC Networks, recognized as one of the “big-three” advocates for the Low Power FM (LPFM) service is announcing the creation of a new company, REC Broadcast Services, LLC.  (“REC LLC”)  

REC has received many questions in regards to the closure of Nexus and how this will impact our clients as well as others who have purchased equipment from Nexus Broadcast.

On July 31, 2014, Nexus Broadcast, LLC (Nexus) has informed Michelle Eyre Bradley dba REC Networks (REC) that effective August 1, 2014, that Nexus would “close”.   Nexus is currently in the process of winding down their operations.  

Nexus has advised REC that they will no longer be accepting new engineering service requests (that are sent to REC for handling) and they will have limited resources to service customers through the month of August. 

This has caught REC off-guard and now we are looking at how this will impact current customers of Nexus who have purchased RECnexus co-branded services as well as how this will affect new requests for application services.
