Several broadcast television stations that are presently operated by Sinclair Inc. through shared services agreements are being sold to the company led by CEO Chris Ripley, four new regulatory filings awaiting FCC approval have revealed.

An FM radio station that had been off the air under Special Temporary Authority with a construction permit for a mountaintop facility south of Provo, Utah, has officially resumed operations. That news comes alongside a Notification of Consummation shared on Tuesday by the FCC four months after the deal closed.

In Q2, revenue improved to $1.22 billion, from $1.19 billion. But, that's thanks to increases in its education, manufacturing and healthcare businesses. TV broadcasting and automotive segments experienced year-over-year dips in the second quarter.

The renewed agreement includes expanded collaboration, increased automation, and ongoing support for station-level activations that deliver measurable results that drive ratings and revenue. Since 2005, the two companies have collaborated to create "high-performing, listener-focused solutions."

For Urban One, the Digital story will be potentially more difficult than for its peers. In Q2, the results were impacted "by weaker than expected performance" in both its national advertising and digital segments. Reduced streaming CPMs are part of the reason.

It is a consolidation of news-focus local programming OTT platforms — and the first of what could be several divestments from the company led by Chris Ripley. Zeam said the investment “strengthens the foundation of local broadcast journalism, helping stations remain competitive, grow reach, and monetize more effectively.”

BIA Advisory Services' revised 2025 U.S. Local Advertising Forecast projects total local advertising revenue to reach $169 billion this year, reflecting a 2.4% decline compared to the previous year. This updated forecast is a 1.5% decrease from the company’s earlier estimate of $171.4 billion.
