By admin | 11:57 PM EDT, Sun April 17, 2011

REC Networks has filed comments in the FCC's inquiry regarding "Need for Speed" which includes the way that broadband providers promote their service speeds as well as set standards for much bandwidth particular applications consume.

REC's comments were related to our experiences with the recent facility move to Prescott Valley and the difficulty we received with Qwest provided service.

Broadcast data in the event of a government shutdown

By admin | 7:47 PM EDT, Fri April 08, 2011

In the event of a government shutdown over the weekend, the FCC plans to take down their broadcast database system.

We have heard this will take place on Monday morning.

UPDATE: A new extension has been approved and should be signed by the President on Saturday. This would extend government activities until next Thursday. If it appears that we are looming another shutdown so late in the week, we will take an unscheduled database update to assure that we have the latest information before the government shuts down.

By admin | 1:37 PM EDT, Wed March 16, 2011

J1 experiences audience decline in wake of Japan disaster

By admin | 1:13 PM EST, Sat March 12, 2011

With the IP networks down in Japan and prorities on more important things while the rest of the world watches live coverage of the earthquake and tsunami, J1's average listening was down as much as over 55% during some portions of the broadcast day in the hours that followed the original 8.8 quake off the coast of Miyagi-ken.
