As a part of a system conversion by REC Networks, the parent of J1 Radio, we will be performing a systems change on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  This change will impact the display of certain content that appears on the J1FM.tokyo website and through pages on the official J1 Radio Mobile App.  While J1's website is provided through Aiir, it utilizes application programming interfaces (APIs) to deliver custom content to the website.  REC/J1 will be changing the server for which this API is operating from.

We have moved most of the static files from Legacy to Sys40 to prepare for future conversions.

The following functions will be now processed through Sys40, but for now will still read and write from the legacy database.  On some functions, the preliminary work is done and they will be activated when their dependent application is transitioned.

REC Networks has reinstated our System 40 Project.

The objectives of the System 40 Project include:

eLMS: Second and third-adjacent channel short-spacing/overlap

By admin | 8:16 AM EDT, Mon July 08, 2024
  • Read more about eLMS: Second and third-adjacent channel short-spacing/overlap

eLMS has added two new report runs that will check filed applications to determine if either:

  • For LPFM applications with engineering, whether there is a §73.807 short-spaced second-adjacent channel facility record; or
  • For FM Translator applications with engineering, whether there is prohibited overlap of another facility record on second or third adjacent channels thus requiring a technical study and a waiver request.

Two new tables have been added to eLMS to support this data:

ORIGINALLY POSTED 6/29/2024 11:30AM EDT - UPDATED 7/1/2024 11:45 AM EDT

A bug was identiifed in the application parser where effective radiated power (ERP) was not being properly picked up on some applications.  This specific issue has been resolved.

eLMS: Silence Log

By admin | 5:00 PM EDT, Sat June 01, 2024
  • Read more about eLMS: Silence Log

eLMS has a silence log that keeps track of speciifc incidents of station silence.  The silence log is a program that runs in the daily update that looks at each silent STA and silent notification and then matches any subsequent resumption of operations notifications into the same incident.  The silence log also keeps archived CDBS history.

eLMS: Status Override

By admin | 9:25 AM EDT, Thu May 23, 2024
  • Read more about eLMS: Status Override

A new Status Overrride table has been added to eLMS and related functionality has been added to the parser and status sync utility.

The need for this new functionality is due to inconsistencies that staff is using to deal with denied amendments.  What we are finding is that in some cases, staff is statusing unacceptable amendments as Dismissed (DIS) instead of Denied (DEN).

eLMS is now fully processing applications for resumption of operations on AM and FM broadcast facilities.  This means that they will now properly appear in FCCdata with suspension and resumption dates and the number of days of the outage.  The "silence log" in eLMS is still not taking into consideration stations that resume their operations through a license to cover application.
